Computational Fluid Dynamics
Creve Coeur Research uses a multitude of CFD codes including Star-CCM+ and the NPARC Alliance WIND code, to solve problems from Low Mach number flows including incompressible, to High Mach number hypersonic flows with real gas effects including finite rate chemistry. Our CFD tools are much more than just a CFD solver, they are an entire engineering process. The solutions can include multi-phase flow, combustion chemistry, heat transfer, radiation, and have numerous turbulence models including DES and LES.
Computational Electromagnetics (CEM)
Creve Coeur Research has developed a suite of Electromagnetics solvers that can be incorporated with our CFD analysis to simulate the complex physics of Magneto-Hydro-Dynamics (MHD) flows. Simulations of magnetic and electric fields integrated with ionized gases in our CFD models, can predict the power generation capabilities of MHD generators. These tools can also be used to simulate Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD) flow control, and beam focusing for electron beam welding.
Engineers at Creve Coeur Research and Engineering are experienced in translating engineering problems into mathematical form by idealizing physical situations, identifying the idealized physical situation with available mathematical representations, and formulating mathematical models. Using these techniques we have analyzed numerous technical challenges including aircraft icing, laser heating of air and gases, finite rate chemistry of air subjected to electrical discharges, ion beam scattering using Monte Carlo methods, microwave heating of conductive gases, HVAC using unique thermodynamic cycles, MHD flow acceleration in incompressible liquids, and heat transfer integrating fluid flow and external heat deposition.
